About Sangamon Valley
The United States Pony Clubs, Inc., develops character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community in youth through a program that teaches the care of horses and ponies, riding and mounted sports.
Sangamon Valley Pony Club is dedicated to preparing riders for a lifetime of equestrian involvement.
Based in Springfield, Illinois, SVPC is a part of the North Central Prairie Region of the United States Pony Clubs.
Founded in 1970, the club has a long, local history of educating riders about good horsemanship, safety, and sportsmanship in a fun, team building environment.
Members can choose to be involved in a wide range of activities and can pursue certifications at their own pace. Dressage, Eventing, Hunter Seat, Show Jumping, Mounted Games, and Tetrathalon are all examples of riding options. Horse enthusiasts that don’t ride can still participate in Horse Management and Quiz Rally!
USPC Pony Clubs and Riding Centers are assigned to one of 41 geographical regions, which are administered by a volunteer Regional Supervisor (RS) and other appointed and elected officers. Regions offer additional activities and opportunities for members and support for the club and center leaders under their administration.
